REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT...
All vessels must have at least one Personal
Flotation Device (PFD) per person on board.

Vessels 16' in length or longer must have at least
one USCG approved throwable PFD on board and
immediately available.

VISUAL DISTRESS SIGNALS (VDSs)...
Vessels less than 16', operated between sunset
and sunrise, must carry a minimum of three visual
distress signals approved for nighttime use.

If smoke and/or flares are used, at least 3 must be
carried on board the vessel. They must be USCG
approved, in good condition, unexpired, and
readily accessible.
